Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and what happens to it.
Effective date: August 2026 · Last updated: August 2026
1. Introduction
Orbismesh LLC ("Orbismesh", "we", "us") operates orbismesh.org and the partner platform. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we hold it, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
By using the platform or submitting an application, you acknowledge that you have read this policy. If you do not agree with it, do not submit personal information to us.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details: name and email address
- Identity information: date of birth, state of residence, government-issued identification, and the tax identification number required for screening
- Background information: employment status, prior business experience, and the disclosures you make in your application
- Payment details: the bank account a distribution or officer fee is paid into
- Programme records: your placements, contracts, messages, and payments
Information collected automatically
- IP address and approximate geographic location
- Browser type and version, device type and operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- The referring website or advertisement
- Cookie and storage data, described in our Cookie Policy
3. What we deliberately do not retain
We keep less than you might expect
Your full tax identification number is transmitted to the screening provider and the formation agent, and we store only the last four digits so you can recognise your own record. Full bank credentials are passed to the relevant institution, and we store only the bank name and last four digits.
4. How we use your information
We use what we collect in order to:
- Review your application and assess you against our eligibility criteria
- Run the identity, sanctions, PEP, and background screening our acquiring partners require
- Form the entity for a placement and appoint you as an officer of it
- Pay your officer fee and distributions, and produce the records behind each figure
- Communicate with you about your application, onboarding, and placements
- Maintain the compliance records we and our partners are required to keep
- Detect and prevent fraud, and protect the platform and the people on it
- Meet legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering and tax reporting requirements
5. Who sees your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it with these categories of party, and only so far as each needs it:
Screening providers
Third-party identity, sanctions, and background screening services engaged to verify who you are.
Formation and registered agents
State filing agents and registered agents used to form and maintain the entity for a placement.
Acquiring and business banks
The acquiring bank underwriting a placement you have accepted, and the bank holding the entity's account. They apply their own criteria and their own privacy terms.
Legal and regulatory authorities
Where we are required by law, court order, or regulatory mandate, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights and safety of Orbismesh, its partners, or the public.
Professional advisers
Attorneys, accountants, and compliance consultants, each bound by confidentiality obligations.
6. Data security
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information: encryption in transit and at rest, access controls limiting sensitive data to authorised staff, and audit logging of access to it.
No transmission or storage method is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If you believe your account or your data has been compromised, contact us immediately.
7. Retention
Screening evidence and placement records are retained for the period required by our acquiring partners' anti-money-laundering obligations, which typically extends beyond the end of a placement. Tax documentation is retained for the period the IRS requires.
8. Your rights
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: ask us to correct anything inaccurate
- Deletion: ask us to delete data we are not required to retain
- Objection: ask us to stop a particular use, where the law gives you that right
California residents have the rights to know, delete, and correct under the CCPA and CPRA, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information, so the right to opt out of sale does not arise. We respond to verified requests within the period the applicable law allows.
9. Children
The platform and the partner programme are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The revised version is posted on this page with a new date, and continued use of the platform after that means you accept it.
